IGNOU BCA assessment: assignments, term-end exams and pass marks

The IGNOU BCA programme assesses learners through assignments and a term-end examination for each course. Assignments are compulsory; responses must be written before taking the Term-End Examination. For core courses, continuous evaluation (assignments) carries 25% weightage, and the term-end examination carries 75%.

Assignments for the current session are available for download on the IGNOU website. Learners must submit Tutor Marked Assignments to the Coordinator of their Learner Support Centre. If an assignment fails, it must be re-submitted. Once an assignment is passed, it cannot be re-submitted to improve the grade. The last date for assignment submission (hard and soft copy) for the December 2026 TEE is 31 October 2026.

Term-end examinations are held twice a year, in June and December. Examination centres are available across India and abroad. The tentative date sheet for the December 2026 term-end examination was issued on 5 October 2026. Learners pay an examination fee of Rs. 200 per theory course. The exam form window for the December 2026 TEE was extended without a late fee until 7 October 2026. Hall tickets are uploaded on the University website; they are not sent by post.
